Overcoming
I have been spending a lot of time recently thinking about how you overcome obstacles that feel too great. Something that might feel really challenging and like a massive mountain. There was an old saying that I heard a long time ago which was “The best way to build a wall is to lay one brick at a time and eventually the wall gets built”. So articulate and write down what the first step would be and do it. Scale out, then zoom in once you learn the picture. The less time there is between knowing what that first step is and doing it; the faster that you will get there. And so it's an encouragement. Start. Procrastion wont get you there, it will make the mountain seem even bigger.
Our health can be one of these obstacles, difficult conversations, getting something done at home, progressing in the business, your fitness and nutrition. These things we quite often know something about, however, we lack the understanding associated to it and we actually just need to get down and learn, test and try and get it done. The less time in between these things is the exact moment you're going to get closer towards what it is that you want to do. One thing iv’e learnt being in bsuiness for the last 12 years is that no one actually knows what theyre doing fully. The ones who do, are the ones who have completed these previous steps and learnt; meaning they have experience and can navigate wisely.
Its not a magic pill. Action gets the obstacle out of the way. Find support, find accountability. Take photos, journal. Aslong as its one brick at a time, the wall will be built.
Our education in todays modern world leaves so many foundational life skills out which leaves people overwhealmed when life hits hard and reveals their reality to them.
Emotional Intellegence, discipline, finances, health, hard conversatins, knowing ones self, respect, awarenss and so many more.
I encourage you that its important to choose to overcome intentiaonlly so that you can grow and reduce the severity of those blows. This also teaches character which is vital.
Who you are as an individual has endless possabilities. You can be anything you want to be if you’re driven and motivated enough. Be honest with yourself. Be venerable. Be true. Then leverage your strengths and work on your weaknesses.
