Welcome To Fitness. A place not only good for the body, but also the mind.

Strength

More than just building muscle, its about becoming strong through movement patterns that encourage the rest of the body to be powerful and efficient. Muscle encourages fat loss, more efficient movement, less chance of injury and allows our nutrition to be regulated more effectively. I can’t say it enough that this is a major priority in balanced health. Correct movement is important however, otherwise we place the body under incorrect load and this will apply stress to the body reducing efficiency and doing more damage than good. Build muscle fibres, encourage growth and unity within the body and complement this with nutrition and mindset and the results over time will speak for themselves.

Cardio

Small wins each day. Cardio in my eyes is the increase of breath work and oxygen efficiency while doing an activity that involves a form of endurance encouraging muscle activation. The way we breath effects the body significantly. Cardio helps blood circulation and aids the digestive system and transportation of minerals around the body. But once again, balance is key; go too far and you’ll place the body in an overly stressed position and the recovery will become longer and more drawn out. Less impact exercises the better. Walking, swimming, hiking, sled pulls/ push and sprints on grass, just some of my go to exercises.

Recovery

Breath work, sleep, nutrition, exposure to light, exercise variations and meditation. These things all contribute towards your overall wellbeing and are vital to allow you to be the best version of yourself. I dont believe in the modern day chemical formulas that “Help with recovery” or pre workouts that “get you pumped to train”. If our bodies are needing these things, our balance is out. Our bodies know the chemical formula if we allow it to do what it does best. Education, listening to what our body is asking and working towards being the best version of ourself all comes with balance.

A Fitness contemplation.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this and explore. We need to learn our own bodies. As a coach my role is to teach you these skills so you can become confident in yourself. I believe that we have lost a lot of important information in todays current age. More accurately, we have added too many things into our daily lives in the search for alternatives, success, and adoration that there is now so much noise that we cant see the truth. Obesity, depression, health in general and humanities overall wellbeing has declined significantly in the last 100-200 years that these flaws are now being passed down through genetics. We have increased levels of stress, unhealthy work habits, bad nutrition and turned a blind eye to the things that matter in life.
We only get one body and I honestly get overwhelmed when i think about the body as it’s so complex. Within just our physical nature we have so much to consider. Our cell regeneration, breathing, organs, bones, ligaments, tendons, nerves, veins, sleep, digestion, reflexology, memory, situational adaptation and so much more. We as humans are sophisticated and complex so don’t undervalue yourself. Most of the time we never think about how our heart beats, Or how blood circulates the the body while replacing damaged cells and and keeping us healthy. So how can we help it be the best it can be?

I find our physical body almost has a voice of its own that we can tune into. If something is off we can feel it, but we’re not often aware of what that is due to lack of understanding and awareness. Many people dont know the feeling of muscular load vs load on joints, tendons and ligaments when performing exercise.
There are ideal ways to train that don’t leave the body stressed and needing hours of recovery. When you look at the body, the muscular system combined makes up the largest organ of the body and we don’t respect this enough. If this is stressed and strained, the rest of the body also takes a hit as this has to recover. Add this to malnutrition and our body is behind before it gets a chance to succeed. No wonder so many people become ill and can’t recover.

As a coach I view training within the laws of physics and make it as simple or complex as you like it to be. This way you learn the skills you need and don’t become reliant on my knowledge. So what happens when we load it incorrectly, or our general posture practices are incorrect? Just like a bridge, there are foundational pillars; strong points that are made to be loaded and points for supports. I Would rather have a bridge that is built with more structures in place than less and this is our muscle. Our “Recovery” represents the workers that build and maintain that bridge (Our sleep, headspace and nutrition) so that our hard work doesnt go to waste. When we keep breaking it down and not allowing the workers to build, were being inefficient and eventually the bridge will break.
Now when we look at the human body, we’re designed to be a strong structure.
We have our spine, joints, ligaments and tendons that hold this structure together, nerves that send instantaneous signals throughout the body to contract, hold tight, react etc in real time life moments. So how would our health be if we allowed our body to do what it does best by giving it the most optimal environment to succeed.

Im here to question things and would like to challenge the reality that we currently accept as the normal. As humans in todays culture we feel like unless we’re ruined, we haven’t worked hard enough; or over indulge in comforts to counter the work rather than looking at the truth. So do you want to work smarter or harder? Taking a break can be more effective than pushing through, stopping to plan can lead to a different outcome and therefore change your life. This is just a piece of the puzzle, explore the other pages to know how mindset and health work in with this. At the end of the day it comes down to action. What are you willing to change to better your future.
